Who we are
Niels Kijf, trading as Timewarp Academy, is registered in the Netherlands under KVK number 53818733. We are the controller responsible for your personal data. To contact us: contact@timewarp.academy.
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Dutch law. The Dutch supervisory authority for data protection is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
What we collect and why
We collect personal data in three contexts.
1. Website visitors
When you visit timewarp.academy, our analytics tool (Umami) records anonymised usage data: page views, referrers, country, browser type and operating system. Umami is self-hosted, cookieless, and does not collect personally identifiable information. No cookies are set for analytics purposes. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the Website is used.
2. Waitlist subscribers
When you join the Art of Unwinding · Daily waitlist, we collect your email address. We use it solely to notify you when enrolment opens. Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
3. Buyers
When you purchase Art of Unwinding · Daily via Pillar.io, we collect your name and email address to fulfil the contract and deliver access to the course. Payment is processed by Stripe via Pillar.io. We never see or store your payment card details. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
Who processes your data
We use the following third-party processors:
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France): manages our email list and sends waitlist and onboarding emails. GDPR-compliant. Data stored in the EU.
- Pillar.io: delivers Art of Unwinding · Daily and processes your purchase. Acts as both processor and independent controller for its own platform operations.
- Stripe: processes payments via Pillar.io. PCI-DSS compliant. We do not receive or store your payment details.
- Umami: self-hosted analytics on our own server. No data is shared with third parties.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertising networks, social media platforms, or data brokers.

Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data
- Object to or restrict processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@timewarp.academy. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Access to your data is limited to those with a need to process it. In the event of a data breach likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens as required by law.
Cookies and analytics
timewarp.academy uses Umami for analytics. Umami is cookieless: it does not set cookies on your device and does not track you across websites. No consent banner is required. No data leaves our own server.
If you follow links from this Website to third-party platforms such as Pillar.io, those platforms may use their own cookies. We are not responsible for their cookie practices.
Children
Our products and services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have received data from a person under 18, please contact us at contact@timewarp.academy and we will delete it promptly.
